I love the details and colours to be found when we get close-up with nature. I sometimes photograph these ‘in the field’ but also sometimes at home, using a lightbox or reflective surface for more creative effects. Recently I was photographing some reflections of feathers when I realised that the reflected images looked like butterfly wings, so a short while later, with a little computer work, some feather butterflies were born!

Having talented quilt makers amongst my family and friends, I decided to create some photographic nature quilts using my nature macro images. The quilts were created in Lightroom’s print module using themed macro images with a template I created. For more details see my post here
