Sometimes when photographing wildlife, it’s not just about trying to get the closest view possible. I enjoy making photographs where the environment the animal or bird is living in is as much a part of the story as the wildlife itself. Whether it’s autumn colours, lichen-covered rocks, the sea below the cliffs, frosted vegetation, or red berries, the habitats in which these wild animals and birds were photographed were part of what attracted me to make the images, and told more of the story than just filling the frame with the wildlife.
